Planning Consultants: Ben White Architecture
Problem
The proposed development (a new dwelling) was located within an Air Quality Management Area and in close proximity to a proposed sewage pumping station. As such, it was at risk from elevated pollution and odour levels.
Scope of Work
Following the guidance of Cornall Council’s Clean Air for Cornwall
Strategy we provided an air qaulity assessment that included:
- review of baseline air quality using data from Cornwall Council’s Air Quallity Report
- A construction dust risk assessment following IAQM guidance
- An air quality screening assessment, following EPUK/IAQM guidance
- recommendation of measures to mitigate air quality impacts during construction and operation
Outcome
The results were summarised in an air quality impact assessment, produced by Greenavon Ltd, and this assessment was used to support the planning application. The application and associated air quality assessment can be found on Cornwall Council’s Online Planning Register.
